organisers

Here you can find short descriptions of the people behind this year's event, and some clues as to what it is their actually doing to justify their pompous airs at the event itself. Don't be a stranger - come meet us all yourself at Solmukohta!

Mikko Pervilä

The leader of the pack

A real party animal sleeps inside Mikko's refined exterior. Yet he can still manage the logistics of the biggest role-playing event in Scandinavia from a cave in Visby.

Henri Hakkarainen

Propaganda

In his posh downtown flat Henri ponders feminism, proletarian rights, and web design. An elitist at heart, with great effort he can be coaxed into actually doing things shoddily himself instead of merely criticising others.

Taika Helola

Programme

Don't let the compact stature fool you, this woman knows more about 17th century emblems and metaphors than most people will ever want to hear. It's with this practical bend of mind that she attacks the problems encountered while arranging programme for role-playing events.

Heidi Hopeametsä

Databases

When not training capoeira, this foxy redhead creates things from handbags to websites, wishing she had more time to learn how to play the berimbau. Her meticulous talent for putting things in order, usually applied to folklore research, is now vital for handling Solmukohta participant data.

Kalle Kivimaa

Treasurer

For as long as there has been role-playing in Finland Kalle has looked after everyone's money. With his feet planted firmly on the ground his both respected and respectable.

Irrette Melakoski

Hostess

Pioneer of Finnish web publishing, larpwright, and researcher, Irrette has recently moved to Helsinki in order to take care of you during the Week in Finland. When the going gets tought this tough gal goes riding.

Markus Montola

Editor

Game organiser and theorist, Markus thrives during conflict. When not inspecting lighthouses or networking on icebreakers he divides his time between the academia and his gaming hobby.

Timo Multamäki

Key account manager

For Timo too much is never enough. Everything can always be bigger, faster, flashier - and above all more expensive - be it his games or his military vehicle come fashion accessory.

Heiko Romu

Acquisitions

Combining the love of pyrotechnics and sushi, Heiko is the perfect man to take charge of the Solmukohta logistics. Armed only with a chef's knife, plate mail, a handgun, a parachute, a firetruck, and scuba gear Heiko can be expected to take care of anything.

Jukka Seppänen

Human relations

Jukka has been involved with labour rights inside the Finnish role-playing scene for a number of years. For or against - the accounts seem to vary. Currently our bearded friend is on a paleolithic diet.

Jaakko Stenros

Public relations

A customer of both the best clothing stores and the geekiest comic shop in Helsinki, Jaakko combines glitter and glam with a solid corporate career. Having trained people on three continents and never having written a larp he believes firmly in the axiom: "those who can't do teach".

Anni Tolvanen

Amusements

Filling our mandatory teenager quota, Anni has managed to arrange and write several successful larps and other events. In Solmukohta, she puts her organising skills to good use in planning the programme. When not making larps or similar events, she studies music and singing in Kaustinen, the holy backyard of folk music in Finland.
