13.2. awif begins
A Week in Finland starts today! During the next six days it is possible to participate in a number of interesting games, parties and Helsinki related touristy. Role-players from near and far can take part in the week activities. Many of the games still have room, so sign up now. The event, on the other hand, is now full. Every last seat is taken!

11.2. games, guides and books
A Week in Finland is packed with interesting games with variety from a murder mystery in historic Finland to immersionist World of darkness. The game descriptions along with information on other events during the week can of course be found on this site.
Note that many games require the participants to sign up in advance.
The Solmukohta book, Beyond Role and Play - Tools, Toys and Theory for Harnessing the Imagination, went to press on Monday. All participants will receive the 320-page opus at the convention. The publication party will take place during A Week in Finland.
For lighter reading material, Surviving Solmukohta a guide to the convention and Helsinki, has been sent to all participants who have paid their admission fee on time.
Those who have signed up for the convention and have not paid the event yet should do so fast so that they do not lose their reservations. The final deadline is the 12th of February.
13.1. Solmukohta is filling up fast
The preliminary sign-up period ended on January 12th. We now have nearly 200 participants from 10 countries!
There is still room at the convention (the maximum number of participants is 230). Starting on January 13th the price for the event will be raised to 42 euros to cover additional costs from the late entries. We have extended the payment deadline to January the 16th for all the people who have registered prior to January 13th - after that they will have to pay the higher price of 42 euros as well.
It is possible to sign up for the event until Thursday, February 12th - assuming we don't run out of space before that, which seems likely. After the final deadline no new participants will be admitted to the convention. Remember that registrations are not completed until the convention fee has been paid to our account.
5.1. dress to impress
This year the con will have two occasions for you to seriously flaunt your fancy feathers.
On Thursday, the opening night of the convention, we'll take a new look at the traditional acquaintance-making programme. We are boldly introducing a new concept, the Solmukohta masquerade. Show up in the attire of your all-time favourite character or favourite genre!
On Saturday night there will be a fancy dress dinner. The theme of this year is Film Noir . A jazz band accompanies.
However, if you got it, keep it coming.
The con is also looking forward to hosting a Fashion Show. As in the previous years, the purpose of the catwalk is to portray larps costumes from different countries, genres, and games. If you have a costume you'd like to show in the Solmukohta Fashion Show, please contact solmukohta-programme@ropecon.fi.
Last but not least,
There is always the possibility of putting the Renaissance in the Ball in a big way with dressing to the occasion in the Renaissance Ball on Friday.
