Ropecon is Finland's largest gathering of gamers.
In addition to traditional tabletop roleplaying games, Ropecon also provides larps, card games, board games, miniature turnaments, help with painting, and empty tables for any kind of gaming you want. Different aspects of the hobby are dealt with in lectures, discussions, debates and workshops.
The themes in 2007 are romance and co-operation. Romance is seen in a broad way, encompassing roleplaying games that deal with personal relationships, as well as the art movement Romanticism that dealt with nature, heroism and strong emotions.
Co-operation refers to the idea in game design where the players don't compete against each other, but work together to win the game together. On the other hand, co-operation also means different organizations and activists working together in real life.
